Description
Overview
- Auto Capture*1 — a Z 9-equivalent brand-new feature that automatically captures subjects via pre-set shooting criteria in stills or video, enabling unattended operation, functioning together with the Z 8’s AF.
- Pixel-shift shooting offers a new level of high resolution of up to approx. 180-megapixels.
- Solid but compact body with robustness and excellent drip- and dust-resistant function down to -10°C/14°F.
- 12-bit N-RAW, ProRes RAW HQ and 10-bit ProRes 422HQ and H.265 in-camera recording.
- 4-axis vertical/horizontal tilting monitor and improved vertical user interface support vertical shooting.
- Pre-Release Capture starts shooting in advance of fully pressing the shutter-release button, making decisive moments even easier to catch at up to 120 fps.
- A truly blackout-free Real-Live Viewfinder, connecting photographers to every single moment of motion with no skipped frames or loss of view.
- Detection of nine different subject types for both stills and video: enables detection of the world’s smallest*2 face in the frame and newly offers a dedicated airplane and bird modes.
- Up to 125 min. in 4K UHD/60p*3 and up to 90 min. in 8K UHD/30p*4 continuous recording possible.
- Full-frame 4K UHD/120p without crop for dramatic slow motion.
- HEIF format that can retain rich tonal gradation from highlights to shadows, letting you capture scenes with increased luminance.
- Skin softening function to smooth people’s skin, improving post-production efficiency.
- The new Picture Control option, Rich Tone Portrait realizes radiant and beautiful rendering of skin textures straight out of the camera.
- *1Restrictions may apply with lenses other than NIKKOR Z lenses.
- *2As of May 10, 2023, among mirrorless cameras, based on Nikon research.
- *3H.265 8-bit (MOV), [Extended oversampling]: [OFF], [Auto temperature cutout]: [Standard], at 25°C/77°F, using a Nikon MC-CF660G memory card and external power source.
- *4H.265 8-bit (MOV), [Auto temperature cutout]: [High], at 25°C/77°F, using a Nikon MC-CF660G memory card and external power source.
